2013 Gulf Coast Qualifier for Optimist International Golf Championships

The North Florida District of Optimist International is hosting the Gulf Coast Qualifier for the Optimist International Golf Championships in Pensacola, Florida. The Old River Optimist Club will be hosting this event in conjunction with the Emerald Coast Junior Golf Association (www.ECJGA.com). The tournament is scheduled for June 15, 2013 (Saturday) and will be held at the Perdido Bay Golf Course (www.PerdidoBayGolf.com). Tee times start at noon Central. A warm-up/fundraiser tournament will be held on June 14th for junior and adult golfers  (junior golfers play free in this warm-up round).

REGISTRATION: Complete the registration form online and bring your entrance fee to the golf course on Saturday, 06/15/13 or on Friday, 06/14/13 if playing in the fundraiser. Payment may be made by cash or check payable to Old River Optimist Club. Registration fees may also be mailed to Old River Optimist Club, P.O. Box 34210, Pensacola, FL 32507. The registration fee is $90 for junior players.

Who Can Play: Junior golfers, boys and girls, age 10 through 18 may play. Junior golfers who live all along the Gulf Coast area including Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi are eligible to play. Junior golfers from other states may play as well in this qualifier.  Adult and junior golfers of all ages may play in the warm-up/fundraiser tournament on the 14th.

Practice Rounds: Special discount rates are available at Perdido Bay Golf Course for practice rounds the day prior to the tournament (http://www.PerdidoBayGolf.com or (850) 492-1223).

Lodging: Special discount rates are also available at Perdido Bay Cottages for golfers and their parents who wish to stay prior to or after the tournament (http://www.PerdidoCottages.com or (850) 492-2214).

Meals: Bag lunches will be provided to the players and volunteers starting at 11:00am.

Rain Date: If the tournament is cancelled due to weather, the tournament will be played the next day.
